René Brookbank, founder and president, provides overall direction for SignatureB Communications and its stylish, personalized email marketing products. René, who has a unique blend of sales, marketing, and public relations expertise, along with experience as a licensed esthetician and spa owner, brings an entrepreneurial spirit to the company and drives its success. She is committed to bringing advanced email solutions to the spa, salon, and medical spa industries, having effectively utilized email marketing to build brand awareness and increase loyalty for Secret Sanctuary, a small, personalized spa she launched prior to founding SignatureB.
René is well-known for bringing the value of email marketing to the forefront in the spa and salon industries. She frequently coaches owners about how to incorporate sophisticated email tactics into their marketing repertoire and has given presentations at professional conferences and contributed articles to trade publications promoting the value of email marketing to small business.
Her previous public relations and marketing experience includes work as manager of special projects at Sullivan & Associates, a strategic healthcare communications agency where René directed a variety of targeted marketing and public relations programs, with tactics including media relations, print and electronic newsletters, and email-based promotions. She also worked at Cummins & White, LLP, a premier business and insurance law firm in Newport Beach, Calif., directing all aspects of its sales and communications programs, and at GAB Robins, North America, Inc.
René earned a bachelor’s degree in organizational communications from Northern Arizona University. In 2006, she earned her esthetician’s license from the California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology.
When not passionately pursuing her commitment to email marketing, René enjoys running, cooking, gardening, and most of all, her Boston Terrier, Billy (see below). She resides in Huntington Beach, Calif., and also donates newsletter writing and production services to Boston Buddies, a rescue group for Boston Terriers.
Janette Gorney, vice president, sales and client relations for SignatureB Communications, brings an exceptional combination of marketing, sales, and relationship building to the company. Because email marketing is still evolving in the spa, salon, and medical spa industries, Janette provides clients with an exceptional experience by listening to their needs, providing expert advice, and helping them achieve success through targeted and affordable email programs. This personal touch is evident by her commitment to continually work with clients to fine tune and improve their email campaigns in order to achieve optimum results.
Her passion for people and their personal achievements has been evident throughout her career. Before joining SignatureB, Janette worked as director of sales and marketing for a destination spa in Malibu, Calif., and enjoyed a successful career in real estate sales and marketing with Bankers Real Estate in Williams, Ariz. She also has worked with the Parry Center for Children as a residential treatment counselor in Portland, and spent time as a social worker with Multnomah County Adult Community Justice where she handled specialized domestic violence cases coordinating and supervising counseling, treatment, court obligations, and social needs.
Janette earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from Northern Arizona University. In August 2008, she earned her master's degree in spiritual psychology from the University of Santa Monica.
Janette resides in Santa Monica, Calif. She focuses on health, wellness, and spiritual living, and practices yoga and meditation. In her free time, she enjoys the outdoors, including running on the beach and hiking in the Santa Monica Mountains. Janette also loves to cook and is a blossoming artist who has held a number of successful shows featuring her colorful and inspiring canvasses.
Billy, top dog and activities director, keeps the SignatureB staff balanced by having the perfect approach to life. Billy constantly reminds us to take life in stride, enjoy each day and each biscuit, get plenty of sleep, take long walks, smell the roses (or fire hydrants!), and unconditionally love those around us.
